Prevention Specialist - Plainview Office

QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelor’s degree in human service or related field required.  Experience working with high risk youth and/or children in the substance abuse field preferred.  Ability to provide prevention education to individuals, families and communities is required.   Must have experience with or have knowledge of a twelve-step recovery program.  Must be familiar with community resources that assist youth and families in the communities we service.  Must be culturally sensitive and be able to work effectively with individuals from different ethnic backgrounds.  Training and knowledge of child and adolescent development and behavior preferred.  Associate Prevention Specialist or obtain APS within 18 months of hire.  Serve as a positive role model for participants.  Must be physically able to perform job duties and have a valid Texas Driver’s License.  Must be willing and have the ability to travel to surrounding communities.
