Qualifications, skills and education: High School graduate or GED required. Understanding and knowledge of substance abuse treatment and recovery process is preferred. Must have a valid Texas driver's license, be insurable and physically able to perform job duties. Must be able to demonstrate cultural sensitivity and serve as a positive role model for clients.
Duties and Responsibilities: Provides close supervision and monitoring of clients in residential substance abuse treatment programs to ensure client safety at all times. Completes entries in daily logs, assures program policies and rules are followed and reports infractions to supervisor. Closely supervises clients during recreational activities.
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN):
Qualification, skills, and education: Graduate of accredited one-year course in vocational nursing. Must be in good standing and have current verifiable registration with Texas State Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners. Knowledge of substance abuse treatment and recovery process preferred. Must demonstrate cultural sensitivity and be able to serve as a positive role model for clients.
Duties and Responsibilities: Performs nursing assessments, monitors physical condition of clients in residential detoxification program, and dispenses medications. Screens clients for admission, crisis intervention, appropriate treatment modalities, and referrals to community services. Maintains ethical, professional relationships with staff, clients, and others.
Adult Treatment Counselor
Qualifications, skills, and education: Bachelors degree in a human services or related field with a minimum of 2 years experience in a substance abuse treatment setting. One year work of experience may be substituted for each year of education required. Must be in good standing and have a current, verifiable license as a Chemical Dependency Counselor or Counselor Intern designation from the Texas Department of State Health Services.
Duties and Responsibilities: Provides substance abuse treatment services including screening, intake, orientation, assessment, group, individual and family counseling and crisis intervention services for target population. Participates in weekly team staffing meetings and maintains credentials necessary to conduct job duties.
Prevention Specialist - Tobacco Control Coalition
Qualifications, skills, and education: Bachelor's degree in a human services or related field preferred. Individual must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to effectively interact with various segments of the population. Knowledge or experience with substance abuse issues is required. Must be familiar with community resources that assist youth and families. Must be culturally sensitive and be able to work effectively with individuals from different ethnic backgrounds. Must be physically able to perform job duties. Must be willing and able to travel to surrounding communities. Must have a current Texas driver's license and be insurable.

Assist communities in implementing model programs and activities based on community needs. Provide information on the dangers of tobacco use and available smoking cessation resources to communities served by the coalition. Assist in development of coalition by recruiting coalition members representative of each community's diverse population. Assist the Community Coalition Coordinator in providing training for coalition members. Develop and maintain a professional relationship with elected and appointed officials and other community leaders.

Qualification, skills, and education: Bachelor's degree in a human services or related field. One year of related experience may be substituted for each year of education. Experience working with high risk youth in the substance abuse field preferred. Must have experience with or knowledge of a twelve-step recovery program. Must be culturally sensitive and be able to work effectively with individuals from different ethnic backgrounds. Training and knowledge of child and adolescent development and behavior preferred. Must be able to serve as a positive role model for participants. Must be physically able to perform job duties.
Duties and Responsibilities: Completes the screening, assessment and intake process. Provides individual, group and family prevention counseling for participants and family members. Provides education and skill training presentations for children and family members. Works closely with local officials and community representatives to carry out program services. Provides crisis intervention services as needed. Provides consultation and education services for the community as needed.
